Pasabuy ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Pasabuy mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: Your email address, username, and profile photo when you create an account
• Profile information: Bio, verification documents (if submitted for KYC), and profile photo
• Transaction data: Trip listings, item requests, messages, reviews, and receipt photos
• Device information: Device type, operating system, and Expo push notification token for sending notifications
• Usage data: How you interact with the App, including screens visited and features used
• Google account data: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Facilitate transactions between travelers and buyers
• Send push notifications about your transactions and messages
• Display your profile and reviews to other users
• Improve the App and develop new features
• Respond to your support requests
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

• With other users: Your username, profile photo, bio, and reviews are visible to other Pasabuy users as part of the marketplace experience
• Service providers: We use Supabase for database and authentication services, and Resend for email delivery. These providers process your data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements
• Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal process
• Safety: We may share information to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pasabuy, our users, or the public

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which uses industry-standard encryption and security practices. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

5. Push Notifications

We use Expo's push notification service to send you alerts about messages, offers, and transaction updates. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings or within the Pasabuy app under Profile → Settings → Notifications.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you delete your account:

• Your profile, messages, and personal data are deleted
• Your trip posts are anonymized (shown as "Deleted User") to preserve transaction history for other users
• Reviews associated with your account may remain to protect the integrity of the review system

7. Children's Privacy

Pasabuy is available to users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Withdraw consent for data processing where applicable

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
